Common Grazings Development – A Common Approach to Drive Change

Following the successful Farm Advisory Service / Crofting Commission development meetings held across the Isle of Lewis in October, we ran a practical development day for Common Grazings in January 2020.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics including, land improvement, land regeneration, stock handling facilities, and Agri-Enviroment schemes. In this video, we here from the speakers, Iain Macmillan of SAC Consulting Stornoway, Gywn Jones of the European Forum on Nature Conservation and Pastoralism and Robin Reid of the RSPB.

We also spoke to some local crofters to look at how they are developing their own grazings and where they see opportunities to develop.
